If you’ve applied for a New or Duplicate PAN Card but haven’t received any updates, it’s understandable to be concerned. You can easily track your PAN Card Status online through various methods, such as by mobile number, acknowledgement number, or application number.

Methods to Check PAN Card Status

After submitting a PAN Card application or updating an existing PAN, you can track the status via the UTI Portal or TIN-NSDL Portal.

Here are some ways to track your PAN Card status-

  1. Track PAN Card Status on UTI NSDL Website

The status can be checked through the Protean eGov Technologies Limited website by selecting the application type and entering the acknowledgment number. Additionally, you can find it using an application coupon number or PAN number on the UTI website:

Follow these steps to track your PAN application status online using the Acknowledgment Number-

Step 1: Visit the NSDL Website or directly Click Here to access the PAN Card Tracking page.

Step 2: Select the ‘Application Type’ and then click on ‘PAN- New/Change Request’.

Step 3: Enter your Acknowledgment Number.

Step 4: Enter the displayed code to verify the status.

Step 5: Click ‘Submit’ to view the status.

     b. How to Check PAN Status on the UTI Website

For tracking the UTI PAN Status of your PAN Card submitted via UTIITSL, you need the Application Number. Follow the steps below to track your PAN application status:

Step 1: Visit the UTIITSL Website.

Step 2: Enter your PAN Number or Application Coupon Number.

Step 3: Enter your Date of Birth.

Step 4: Complete the CAPTCHA displayed.

Step 5: Click ‘Submit’ to see the status of your application.

Step 6: The status of your PAN application will be shown on the screen.

2) Track Your PAN via PAN Number

To update your PAN Card, you must submit a fresh application. This also applies if the card has been lost or stolen. The UTIITSL website allows you to track the progress of your application.

Follow these steps to check the status of your PAN Card on the UTIITSL website:

Step 1: Visit the UTIITSL Website.

Step 2: Choose the ‘Track Your PAN Card’ option under ‘For PAN Cards’ from the homepage.

Step 3: Enter your PAN or Voucher Number on the tracking page.

Step 4: Complete the CAPTCHA and click ‘Submit’ to track your PAN status.

3) Track PAN Status by Name and Date of Birth

Currently, you cannot directly track your PAN Card Status by name or by Date of Birth. However, you can retrieve your PAN details by entering your name and Date of Birth following these steps:

Step 1: Go to the Income Tax Department’s Tax Information NetworkTrack your PAN/TAN Application Status page.

Step 2: Choose ‘Application Type’ as ‘PAN-New/Change Request’.

Step 3: Enter your PAN Number, Full Name, and Date of Birth.

Step 4: Select ‘Name’ as the option.

Step 5: Enter your First Name, Middle Name, and Last Name.

Step 6: Insert your Date of Birth.

Step 7: Click ‘Submit’ to verify your PAN status.

4) How to Check the Status of Your PAN Card by Coupon Number?

Step 1: To track the status of your PAN Application, visit the ‘PAN Card Application Status’ page on the UTIITSL Website.

Step 2: Choose your application type from the drop-down menu.

Step 3: Enter the 'Coupon Number' (received after successfully submitting your PAN application).

Step 4: Hit the 'Submit' button to proceed.

5) Other Methods to Check PAN Card Status (Telephone, SMS, Without Acknowledgment Number)

Typically, it takes the Income Tax Department up to 15 working days to process an application for a 10-digit alphanumeric Permanent Account Number (PAN). After submission, applicants receive a 15-digit acknowledgment number to track their application’s progress.

Besides checking your status on the NSDL and UTIITSL official websites, you can also track the status of your PAN application using the following methods:

Track Status via Telephone

Applicants can contact the TIN call center at 020-27218080 between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. to check their PAN application status.

The call center agent will ask for the 15-digit acknowledgment number to check the status of the application.

After hours, applicants can use the IVR system between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. to track the application status.

Track Status via SMS

Once the application is submitted, send an SMS with the text ‘NSDL PAN’ followed by your 15-digit acknowledgment number to 57575.

The status of the application will be sent to the phone number provided on the application form.

Track Status Without Acknowledgment Number

If you don’t have the Acknowledgment Number, you can still track the status of your PAN application using your name and date of birth.
