Instant PAN Card Through Aadhaar

Aadhaar Card

The Finance Ministry has made it easier for citizens to obtain an Instant PAN through their Aadhaar number. This move ensures tax compliance and discourages tax evasion.

Issuing a PAN card to everyone is also a step toward combating black money. With the Instant PAN service, citizens can use their Aadhaar Card to generate a PAN card, which proves to be highly useful.

Purpose of Obtaining an Instant PAN through Aadhaar Card

This service benefits individuals who possess a valid Aadhaar number but lack a PAN. It is a significant advancement in digitalization.

Your PAN acts as a unique identifier across your bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial transactions, contributing to tax transparency and reducing tax evasion.

Linking your PAN with Aadhaar and bank accounts plays a key role in preventing financial crimes. Fraudulent activities like credit card fraud, identity theft, and money laundering have risen in recent years. PAN is a vital tool in curbing these crimes. The government has made this service available for free to help individuals obtain PAN swiftly.

How to Get Instant PAN through Aadhaar

This option allows those with a valid Aadhaar card to receive an instant PAN. Unlike other processes, applicants won't need to fill out a full application form, and the PAN will be issued without any additional charges in PDF format.

The PDF comes with a QR code that includes demographic details like the applicant’s name, date of birth, and photo. The e-PAN can be downloaded from the income tax e-filing portal using the 15-digit acknowledgement number. A soft copy of the e-PAN will also be sent to your registered email address.

You can apply for an e-PAN through the NSDL and UTITSL websites for a fee. Alternatively, the e-PAN is available for free on the income tax e-filing portal. When applying for a PAN via this method, your Aadhaar number is automatically linked to your PAN.
